Gospel thought for today The most Sacred Heart of Jesus – 19th June 2020

Friday 19th June The most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Gospel Reading – Matthew 11:25-30

At that time Jesus exclaimed, ‘I bless You, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to little children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased You to do.

Everything has been entrusted to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.

‘Come to me’ all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, My yoke is easy and My burden light.’

The Mass intention is for The Martin and Wilson Families

Reflection:

The Gospel from Saint Matthew reminds us that Jesus is calling us into the intimacy of his divine heart, along with all our worries and troubles. He is the one who will ease and sooth away all our burdens and sorrows, if only we trust in him. This call of love is a two way process, Jesus gives and we receive but we receive not only for ourselves but so that we can share the gifts that we receive with others who are in need also! Such is the heart of Jesus.19

How do you honour the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus?
