My dear friends,
In this season of ‘ordinary time’, it is sometime now since we the blessed events of the epiphany and Christmas. We explore Jesus life and ministry, reconciliation and wholeness as he walks, like a wild fire of Hope through our hurting world. How can you and I be a sign of Hope for our Sisters and brothers? Allow your hands to bring healing, allow, your eyes to look with compassion, allow your ears to hear the cry of the poor, allow your hearts to be open to a world in need of God’s abiding love through you!
In our Gospel this Sunday, Jesus say’s ‘You are the light of the world’. What does Jesus mean, by theses words? Through our baptism we all share in the mission and ministry of Jesus.
Today in our families, places of work, schools and communities, we are the ones who are being called to stand up, and speak out shine as followers of Jesus!
You and I are called and invited NOT to hide in the shadows or be embarrassed that we ARE followers of Jesus. When we see some of the very painful circumstances and difficulties our world is facing on television or in the media, we may feel powerless or hopeless! But we should fear not. Because we are called to be a people of LIGHT!
We live in a time when there seems to be an atmosphere of fear and doubt spreading around the world. My friends we are asked by Jesus to let the LIGHT of our faith and hope shine even more brightly than ever before!
Hope Springs Eternal
