12th Week in Ordinary Time Gospel Thoughts 2020
My dear friends,
In these coming weeks as we wait in joyful hope for the opening of our churches for private prayer, let us enter ever more deeply in to the word of God in this the Year of the ‘God who Speaks’.
Through sacred Scripture God is always speaking to his people. And while we continue to try and make sense of our world at this strange and difficult time we need to recall the many difficulties our Christian brothers and Sisters endured in their struggle to keep the Gospel alive through their trials and tribulations. Look at our sisters and brothers around the world who struggle daily in trying to access the sacraments let us take courage from them and unite our struggles with theirs, at this time of pandemic. In God we trust for a brighter future!

Gospel Reading – Matthew 10:34-11:1
Jesus said to his Apostles: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword.
For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one’s enemies will be those of his household.
“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Reflection
In the Gospel from Saint Matthew, Jesus said to his disciples “Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. This is because this message calls for a conversion of heart and a new way of life which many do and still reject!
- How do you live out the cost of your discipleship through your thoughts, words and deeds?
My Love to you all
